Watch Now as David Schwimmer reveals the Grammy-winning singer he served with divorce papers!

David Schwimmer recently shared an amusing story from his youth during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The 58-year-old actor recalled a unique job he had as a teenager when his mother, a divorce lawyer, asked him to serve divorce papers. Schwimmer became the “process server,” popping out of bushes to deliver legal documents. He described it as feeling like “James Bond” and mentioned getting “tipped off” about people’s whereabouts.

One particularly memorable encounter was when Schwimmer served divorce papers to none other than British rockstar Rod Stewart. Schwimmer chuckled as he recalled the moment, saying, “I don’t even know if he knows. I don’t think he knows.” The actor also joked that he’s relieved he hasn’t run into Stewart since that fateful day. Colbert responded humorously, suggesting Stewart might now want to punch Schwimmer if they cross paths.

While Schwimmer didn’t provide specifics on who was divorcing Stewart at the time, the rockstar’s divorce from his first wife, Alana Stewart, took place in 1984, around the time Schwimmer turned 18.

David also teased a story about a blockbuster movie role he once turned down, adding more intriguing tidbits to his career journey.
