In a recent Instagram post, Perry shared his reaction to a heartbreaking story about an ER nurse who stayed behind in a mandatory evacuation zone to save her elderly parents’ home after their fire insurance was canceled.

Perry called it “appalling” that insurance companies, after profiting for years, could abruptly cancel policies, abandoning the very communities that made them wealthy. His remarks come as California faces mounting concerns over an insurance crisis, with major providers like State Farm reportedly dropping more than 70,000 home insurance policies last year. The affluent Pacific Palisades area, heavily affected by the wildfires, saw over 70% of homes lose coverage before the fires struck.

Known for his generosity, Perry hinted at plans to help L.A. residents recover, suggesting donations or other initiatives might follow. His criticism reflects broader frustrations among Californians who now fear they may struggle to secure coverage amid increasing wildfire risks.
