Robert Vito, star of Spy Kids, will not face criminal charges in a case involving domestic abuse.
Robert Vito will not face criminal charges following his recent arrest, though he will participate in a hearing with the Los Angeles City Attorney to discuss alternative conflict resolution strategies. The City Attorney’s Office confirmed that this meeting will focus on preventing similar incidents in the future.
According to TMZ, the case will be put on hold, with no charges filed, as long as Vito avoids any legal trouble within the next year.
Vito, known for his role in Spy Kids, was arrested last month on a felony domestic violence charge after police responded to an alleged altercation with his then-girlfriend, Lindsey Jennings. Reports suggest the dispute escalated, with Jennings claiming Vito pushed their son and threw him onto a couch. Officers noted visible injuries on Jennings, leading to Vito’s arrest.
Despite the initial arrest, the district attorney’s office declined to pursue felony charges, and now the City Attorney has decided not to file misdemeanor charges either.
Vito’s attorney, Bob M. Farahan, stated that they do not believe Vito should have been arrested, citing law enforcement’s limited access to information at the time, which was based solely on Jennings’ account. Farahan emphasized that Vito strongly opposes physical or domestic violence and is committed to moving forward while remaining a devoted father to his son.
