Man United transfer news: Red Devils ‘reach agreement’ with Brentford to sign Bryan Mbeumo

Posted on July 15, 2025 by sportsmars60@gmail.com

Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement with Brentford for the signing of Bryan Mbeumo.

The Bees are supposedly preparing for the imminent exit of the attacker, looking at the possibility of bringing Omari Hutchinson from Ipswich Town as a replacement.

Mbeumo enjoyed a barnstorming campaign during 2024-25 as Brentford navigated their final term under the tutelage of Thomas Frank.

Like teammate Yoane Wissa, the Cameroon international fired in 20 Premier League goals, featuring in all 38 top-flight matches.

Since making the switch from French outfit Troyes during the summer of 2019, Mbeumo has played 242 games, scoring 70 times.

According to Football Transfers, Manchester United are closing in on their fourth first-team signing of the summer transfer window.

Man United agree deal for Brentford’s Mbeumo?

The report claims that the Red Devils have agreed a deal with Brentford to bring 20-goal man Mbeumo to Old Trafford this month.

It is understood that the Bees are still holding out on their £70m price tag, so it remains to be seen how much Man United fork out for the attacker.

Mbeumo was also supposedly attracting interest from fellow Premier League sides Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United, with both capable of providing Champions League football in 2025-26.

However, it is believed that the 25-year-old has his heart set on a switch to the Theatre of Dreams, snubbing the attentions of Spurs and the Magpies.

Is Mbeumo making the right choice?

After finishing in the bottom half of the Premier League last season, Man United are doing well to lure top talent to the club.

Mbeumo could have easily earned a contract at a Champions League-competing outfit but is instead opting for an Old Trafford switch.

The 25-year-old might regret his decision in a few months’ time if Man United continue to struggle under the leadership of Ruben Amorim.
