Def Leppard Announces Secret Album and World Tour with Surprising Collaborations

In a jaw-dropping announcement that has stunned fans and rocked the music world, Def Leppard has revealed the upcoming release of a secret studio album — their first in three years — alongside a massive 2025–2026 world tour packed with unexpected collaborations across genres.

The album, titled “Neon Thunder”, was recorded in total secrecy over the past year in studios across Los Angeles, Tokyo, and London. Band members hinted at the project during cryptic social media teases, but no one anticipated what they had in store: a genre-bending record that includes guest appearances from Lady Gaga, Dave Grohl, Post Malone, and Tom Morello.

Lead singer Joe Elliott, currently recovering from an autoimmune illness, is confirmed to have contributed vocals to the album before stepping back from touring. “This album is the boldest thing we’ve ever done,” said guitarist Phil Collen. “It’s Def Leppard like you’ve never heard us — dangerous, melodic, and wide open.”

The “Neon Thunder World Tour” kicks off this September in Tokyo and spans five continents, with select shows featuring live duets and appearances from their collaborators. In a bold move, some concerts will also feature local symphony orchestras, blending classic rock with cinematic arrangements.

A deluxe edition of the album will include behind-the-scenes footage, handwritten lyrics, and a bonus track co-produced by Trent Reznor.

The first single, “Electric Blood”, drops later this month — and if the teaser is any indication, Def Leppard is about to rewrite the rules of rock once again.
