The Revolution Legend Wendy Melvoin Announces One-Night-Only Reunion Concert: A Purple Dream Reborn

In a thrilling surprise for fans of classic funk and timeless rock, Wendy Melvoin, the legendary guitarist and vocalist of The Revolution, has just announced a one-night-only reunion concert that promises to be one of the most unforgettable music events of the decade.

Set to take place at First Avenue in Minneapolis—the sacred ground where Purple Rain was born—the concert will mark the first time in over a decade that all surviving members of The Revolution will perform together onstage.

In a press statement titled “One Night for the Purple One,” Melvoin wrote:
“This isn’t a comeback. This is a celebration. We’re gathering for one night to honor Prince, relive the revolution, and remind the world what musical magic really feels like.”

The setlist will include deep cuts from Purple Rain, Around the World in a Day, and Parade, along with rare songs Prince wrote exclusively for The Revolution that have never been performed live—until now.

The event is already being hailed as “The Purple Resurrection”, with fans camping online for pre-sale tickets within hours of the announcement. A live stream is rumored to be in the works, alongside a potential vinyl release of the night’s recording.
