Big News: 80s icon Kim Wilde to headline Bristol Pride 2025

Kim Wilde, the iconic 80s pop sensation renowned for hits like “Kids in America,” is set to headline Bristol Pride 2025, marking a triumphant return to the stage. The festival, scheduled from June 28 to July 13, will culminate with Pride Day on July 12, featuring Wilde’s performance on The Downs.

Wilde’s journey back to music has been both inspiring and transformative. After stepping away from the limelight in the late 1990s to focus on family and a burgeoning passion for gardening—achieving accolades such as a Gold award at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2005—she found her way back to music. A spontaneous performance at a village fete reignited her love for the stage, leading to the creation of her new album, “Closer,” set for release in January 2025.

Her return is underscored by resilience; at 64, Wilde faced a debilitating slipped disc that caused intense nerve pain, threatening her mobility and career. Through dedicated rehabilitation, including walking, swimming, and personal training, she emerged fitter and more determined, channeling her experiences into her latest musical endeavors.

Bristol Pride 2025 promises to be a vibrant celebration of diversity and inclusion, with Wilde’s performance symbolizing not just a musical comeback but a testament to enduring spirit and passion. Her presence is anticipated to draw fans old and new, making this year’s festival an unforgettable experience.
