Announcement: KIM WILDE LIVE IN MANCHESTER – WHAT HAPPENED?

Kim Wilde rocked out Manchester Academy on Saturday night with an action packed live showcase of her finest work. A fair few had turned out to see the pop icon in all her glory, accompanied by a lively band who certainly added an element of 80’s nostalgia to the proceedings.
Wilde was warmly received as she launched onto the set with ‘Hey Mr Heartache’ swiftly followed by ‘Never Trust a Stranger’ and ‘Rocket To the Moon’. The setlist included a cover version of the classic Supremes track ‘You Keep Me Hanging On’ which suited Wilde’s powerful vocals perfectly and ended the main set with a bang!
The encore and the evening would not be complete without Wilde’s most famous number ‘Kids In America’. The audience clearly enjoyed it and no doubt many were transported back to 1981 when it was released.
The tracks were accompanied by some impressive dance moves from both Wilde and the musicians. Wilde is defying age and it is easy to forget she is now into her fifth decade of performing. Iconic is a word used too freely but in this case it is certainly deserved. The hair, the outfit and the swagger was pure pop perfection!
Wilde is currently on a UK tour and heads North this week to Glasgow. To find out more about this latest tour and further dates please check out the official Kim Wilde website below.
