Big Country Unreleased Epic Single “Echoes of a Distant Thunder” Set to Drop After 30 Years

In a stunning surprise for longtime fans, legendary Scottish rock band Big Country is set to release a previously unreleased single titled “Echoes of a Distant Thunder”, a track that has remained in the vault for over 30 years.

Originally recorded during sessions in the early 1990s, the song captures the classic Big Country sound—layered guitars, anthemic melodies, and the band’s signature Celtic rock influence. The track was recently rediscovered and remastered by founding guitarist Bruce Watson and his son Jamie Watson, now part of the current lineup.

“This track feels like a message from another time,” Bruce Watson said. “It’s raw, powerful, and unmistakably Big Country. We’re proud to finally share it with the world.”

The release of “Echoes of a Distant Thunder” comes as part of the band’s 2025 “Eastworld Tour,” and is expected to hit major streaming platforms later this month. A limited-edition vinyl pressing will also be available for collectors.

This marks the first new material from the band since their 2013 album The Journey, and has reignited excitement among fans and critics alike.

With the band’s ongoing resurgence and dedication to honoring their roots, “Echoes of a Distant Thunder” is poised to be a nostalgic yet fresh anthem for a new generation of listeners.
