Alice in Chains Announces Lost Album “Shadows Beneath” After 32 Years
In a stunning revelation that has electrified the rock and metal community, legendary Seattle band Alice in Chains has announced the release of a previously lost album titled “Shadows Beneath”. The record, originally recorded 32 years ago in 1993, was recently rediscovered in a collection of archived studio tapes.
Described by the band as a missing link between their iconic albums Dirt and Alice in Chains, Shadows Beneath features rare tracks with haunting vocals from the late Layne Staley, heavy guitar layers from Jerry Cantrell, and the raw, emotionally charged energy that defined their early sound.
“This isn’t just an old album — it’s a snapshot of a band at a critical turning point,” Cantrell shared. “We thought these recordings were lost forever.”
The album will be remastered and released worldwide in September 2025, alongside a special-edition vinyl and a behind-the-scenes documentary about the rediscovery.
“Shadows Beneath” promises to be both a gift to long-time fans and a powerful reintroduction to the band’s darkest, most formative era.
More details will be available soon on the band’s official channels.
