Ana De Armas and Oscar Isaac Will Star in the New Apple TV+ Series “Bananas”

Oscar Isaac and Ana de Armas are teaming up for an exciting new drama series titled Bananas, which has been picked up by Apple TV+ after a competitive bidding war, as reported by Deadline.

The series, created and written by Carolina Paiz, will also see Academy Award-nominated filmmaker David O. Russell attached as director and executive producer. Both Oscar and Ana will not only star but also serve as executive producers for the show.

While plot specifics remain under wraps, Deadline sources suggest the series title (which could change) refers to “banana republics,” a term historically used to describe politically and economically unstable countries, particularly in Central America. This hints at a potentially politically charged and dramatic storyline.

Notably, this project marks Ana de Armas’ English-language series debut, adding to her growing repertoire of critically acclaimed roles. For Oscar Isaac, this series adds to a busy slate, as he’s also set to reprise his role in the upcoming second season of a hit Netflix series.

Stay tuned for more updates on this star-studded and highly anticipated production!
