A$AP Rocky’s Lawyer Says Whether Rihanna Will Play a Part in the Rapper’s Next Felony Assault Trial

A$AP Rocky’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, has addressed the upcoming felony assault trial involving the rapper, which stems from charges of assault with a semiautomatic firearm following an alleged shooting incident with his former friend, A$AP Relli, in August 2022. A$AP Rocky pleaded not guilty to the charges, and despite a judge ruling the case will proceed with a criminal trial, his team is reportedly “ready to go” as the trial is set to begin in the coming days.

Tacopina shared that the ongoing legal battle has been a source of stress for A$AP Rocky and his longtime partner, Rihanna, adding that the couple, along with their family, is eager to put the ordeal behind them. He also revealed that Rihanna will likely not be involved in the trial, as A$AP Rocky is very protective of her and doesn’t want her to be caught up in the proceedings.
