The legendary British duo, known for their signature electronic sound and timeless hits like “West End Girls” and “It’s a Sin,” shared their excitement about revisiting their collaboration with the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll. “We had the joy of working with Tina in the mid-90s on our song Confidential,” they said in a statement. “And now it’s a pleasure to be able to remix this funky song from the ’80s with an awesome vocal from Tina.”
Originally recorded at the iconic Capitol Studios in Hollywood, “Hot For You Baby” was intended to be part of Turner’s blockbuster 1984 album Private Dancer—the record that catapulted her to solo superstardom. Though it didn’t make the final cut, the song retains all the heat, rhythm, and charisma that defined her career.
The track, written by Australian singer-songwriter John Paul Young and produced by John Carter, features Tina at her most vivacious, delivering a sultry, charged performance that Pet Shop Boys have brought to life with modern flair. The anniversary edition is a collector’s dream, available in multiple formats: a deluxe 5CD/Blu-ray box set, a 2CD edition, and a stunning 1LP picture disc featuring both the official UK/EU cover and the US artwork.
