Meanwhile, Paul Skenes, coming off an impressive rookie season with the Pirates, is focused on preparing for 2025. After finishing the 2024 season with an 11-3 record, a 1.96 ERA, 170 strikeouts, and a 0.95 WHIP, Skenes is determined to improve further in the coming year. Although he does take time to spend with Olivia, he sticks to a strict training regimen that limits his free time. He spoke about balancing his relationship with his preparation, noting that while he would love to take trips like to Italy, his commitment to training means he can only manage brief moments with Olivia. As he said, “We can do something, but we’ve got about 12 hours because I need to get back and lift in the morning.”
