For the first time in almost nine years, Chelsea Green wants a major WWE title to be returned.

Chelsea Green, the inaugural Women’s United States Champion, recently shared her interest in bringing back the WWE Divas Championship, a title that was retired in 2016 to make way for the Women’s Championship. In an interview with The Wrestling Classic, Green expressed her desire for the title’s return, saying, “Yep, 100%,” when asked if she still wanted to see the Divas Title reintroduced.

Although the Divas Championship has a controversial history, particularly due to its initial criticism over the years for its representation of women, Green believes that reintroducing the title would generate buzz and bring more attention to the women’s division. She explained that the title’s controversial past could be used to attract more eyes on the product, noting, “It’s a controversial take, and everybody’s talking.” Green sees the renewed attention and debates around the title as an opportunity for growth.

Despite the title’s mixed legacy, many in the wrestling world, including rising stars like Green, still view it as an iconic piece of WWE history. Her comments reflect her belief that the Divas Title could serve as a catalyst for drawing more attention to the women’s division and its ongoing evolution.

Green is currently involved in a feud with Michin on Friday Night SmackDown, following her victory at Saturday Night’s Main Event 2024, adding another layer to her current storyline in WWE.
