Arsenal’s emblem Ian Wright refers to Donald Trump as a “freak” when the wife of Manchester United star Wayne Rooney shares a comment the US president made about her.
During a 2018 visit to the White House, Coleen Rooney shared an awkward moment involving US President-elect Donald Trump. She revealed that Trump, upon meeting her, made an odd comment to her father, saying, “See, I told you all the soccer players get the good-looking girls.” Coleen’s father did not take kindly to the remark, and when she told her mother, she expressed disapproval.
This comment led to a reaction from Arsenal legend Ian Wright, who described Trump as a “freak” in response to the incident. Despite the strange encounter, Coleen said it was a brief meeting, as they were there for a Christmas event, and not much time was spent with Trump.
Coleen also humorously recalled how her kids were eating chicken nuggets under the table during the event, calling the setup “a bit of a strange” experience.
The visit occurred while Wayne Rooney was playing for DC United in the MLS, where he spent two years before returning to England. He briefly returned to the US as a manager for DC United in 2022 but also spent just a year before coming back to England once again.
