Following the game, Steph Curry confronts an adult in the stands who has stolen his iconic shoes from a little fan.
Following the Golden State Warriors’ victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday, a memorable moment occurred when Steph Curry handed his game-worn sneakers to a young fan. However, an older individual snatched the shoes from the child, which led to Curry confronting the person in the stands. The incident was filmed, with Curry visibly expressing his frustration and making it clear that the sneakers were meant for the young fan, not the adult.
Curry had an outstanding game, scoring 31 points and recording 10 assists, leading the Warriors to a 113-103 victory. His strong performance helped bounce back from a tough game earlier in the week when he had failed to make a field goal in a loss to the Timberwolves, going 0-for-7 from the field.
This isn’t the first time Curry’s sneakers have been at the center of controversy. A similar incident occurred in December 2016 when Curry signed and gave his game-worn shoes to a child after a game against the Utah Jazz. However, another person tried to steal them, leading to a brief scuffle before security intervened and the shoes were returned to the child.
Curry’s generous gesture in both incidents highlights his connection with fans, although, in these cases, it was met with a bit of drama!
