Enzo Fernandez claims he hopes to spend “many years” at Stamford Bridge alongside his clubmate, saying, “I insisted a lot that he came to Chelsea.”

Enzo Fernandez has praised his Chelsea teammate Moises Caicedo, sharing that he personally urged the club to sign the Ecuadorian midfielder. Fernandez described Caicedo as an “exceptional player” and a “great person,” emphasizing the strong bond they have developed since playing together. Caicedo, who joined Chelsea from Brighton for a British record £115 million in the summer of 2023, has become a key part of the team’s midfield. Fernandez, who has played alongside Caicedo in 55 of his 67 Chelsea appearances, expressed his desire to continue playing with him for many more years.

In addition to his praise for Caicedo, Fernandez spoke about enjoying his new, more advanced role under manager Enzo Maresca. In his new position as a box-to-box midfielder, Fernandez has seen a significant increase in his contributions, with higher numbers in chance creation, shots taken, and sprints per 90 minutes. While Fernandez enjoys the attacking freedom of his role, he remains committed to his defensive duties, often dropping back alongside Caicedo to help close spaces.

Chelsea currently sit second in the Premier League with 35 points, two points clear of third-placed Arsenal and four points behind leaders Liverpool. The Blues will face Fulham in their next match on December 26.
