“He will undoubtedly top the list.” Jamie Carragher thinks a 27-year-old Premier League player might be signed by Liverpool in January.
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has suggested that the Reds will target Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson in the upcoming January transfer window. Carragher praised Robinson’s performance against Liverpool, particularly highlighting his standout display at Anfield. Robinson was named Man of the Match in Fulham’s 3-0 loss to Liverpool, where he effectively contained Mohamed Salah, one of the Premier League’s top performers this season. Carragher believes that Robinson’s excellent form, including six assists in 17 Premier League appearances this season, has made him a top target for Liverpool, who are looking to strengthen their left-back options.
Currently, Liverpool has two left-backs in Andrew Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas, but both have struggled defensively this season. Robertson has made 22 appearances and contributed one assist, while Tsimikas has played 12 times, also providing an assist. With their defensive frailties evident, reports suggest that Liverpool is keen to add another left-back to their squad as they aim to continue their challenge for the Premier League title.
Meanwhile, Liverpool extended their 20-game unbeaten streak with an emphatic 6-3 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. Luis Diaz opened the scoring, and goals from Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Mohamed Salah put the Reds 5-1 up before Spurs managed to pull two goals back. Diaz sealed the victory with a late strike. The win kept Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table, four points ahead of second-placed Chelsea with a game in hand. Liverpool will face Leicester City at Anfield on Boxing Day.
Tottenham, on the other hand, are 11th in the standings and will face Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day.
