When will Inter Miami, led by Lionel Messi, try to sign Neymar Jr.? The report offers an update.
Inter Miami is reportedly interested in bringing Neymar to the MLS to reunite him with his former Barcelona teammates, Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez. Neymar, who joined Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal in 2023, has struggled with injuries and has only played seven games. His contract with Al-Hilal expires in the summer of 2025, and rumors have been circulating about his potential move to Inter Miami.
Although the club has not confirmed an official approach, reports suggest that Inter Miami’s ownership team, led by Jorge Mas, remains keen on signing Neymar. The club might attempt to acquire him either in January, before the start of the 2025 MLS season, or after the FIFA Club World Cup next summer.
Jorge Mas recently stated that Inter Miami would be open to signing Neymar if he becomes available, emphasizing their aspirations to bring top players to the club. He acknowledged that while Neymar is currently an Al-Hilal player, the club would not hesitate if the opportunity arose.
Neymar and Messi previously played together for four years at Barcelona and two years at PSG, accumulating 67 goal involvements across 206 matches. If Neymar joins Inter Miami, it would mark the third club where he has played alongside Messi.
