John Mayer Completes Purchase of Renowned Jim Henson Studio Lot

John Mayer and producer/director McG have officially purchased the iconic Jim Henson Studio lot, a historic Hollywood property, for approximately $45 million, TMZ reports. Mayer will oversee the recording studio, while McG will manage the lot’s other facilities.

The Jim Henson Studio, renowned for hosting legendary music acts like Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Ozzy Osbourne, and The Supremes, is also where the iconic anthem “We Are the World” was recorded.

Sources close to the deal reveal that Mayer and McG plan to preserve the studio’s legacy and maintain its status as a premier recording hub on the West Coast. The duo is committed to keeping the current staff and making no major operational changes, emphasizing the importance of the property’s history.

A name change for the studio is reportedly under consideration, though no decision has been finalized. Mayer’s connection to the property dates back years, as he has previously maintained offices on-site.

This acquisition marks a significant moment in the history of the Jim Henson Studio lot, with Mayer and McG set to ensure its continued prominence in the music and entertainment industry.
