Ariana Grande explains the significance of the “Wicked 2” title change and how long she has been aware of it.

Ariana Grande recently shared her thoughts on the updated title for Wicked: Part Two, which is now officially called Wicked: For Good. In an interview with Variety, Ariana revealed that the title was chosen early on, with the phrase “For Good” printed on the original scripts from the start. She explained that they had considered other options but grew attached to the title because it perfectly encapsulated the impact of the project. “It’s just the perfect title because this project really has changed us for good,” Ariana expressed.

The title Wicked: For Good references the iconic Act Two duet “For Good” between Elphaba and Glinda, making it a meaningful connection to the story. Ariana, who stars as Glinda, also reflected on the personal transformation she and her co-stars have undergone during the production. With the success of the first Wicked movie, which grossed $527 million worldwide in just 25 days, fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the sequel, slated for November 2025.

There has also been some buzz around potential cast changes for Wicked: For Good, though specifics haven’t been fully disclosed yet.
